Weight Loss

Weight Loss – It’s not just about the food…

Are you struggling to lose weight?

If the answer to this question is yes, you are not alone - an astonishing 50% of the population in the UK is overweight. Two in five women and one in six men are dissatisfied with their weight or shape and are on a permanent diet.
Its all about balance
It is a fact supported by the British Dietetic Association, (BDA) that fad diets do not work and are at best temporary solutions to weight loss.
The body is a complex system that requires balance on all levels, physical, mental, and emotional. When this balance is achieved you are more likely to experience vibrant health and issues around weight gain or retention can also be addressed.
Through my experience of using Health Kinesiology I can use the muscle testing technique to enable us to tap into what the body needs to rebalance on each of the different levels. Further more this technique is specific to each individual taking into consideration everyone’s unique differences.

Your Ideal Diet
There is no such thing as an ideal diet that is the same for every person, just as looks vary, so do people’s nutritional needs.
The ideal diet for any one person consists of the right food in the right amounts at the right time in the right way.
This ideal diet can vary over time. Things such as changes in your health, having energy work done, changes in your lifestyle and circumstances, will affect your nutritional requirements.
Back to basics
To operate at its best the body requires specific daily amounts of nutrients but it is important to remember that everyone is unique. We all have different internal organs, metabolic rates and so on. This is why different people have different dietary needs.
Other Factors to Consider:
Although a balanced diet is essential there could also be underlying problems that are contributing to your weight. These could include:
·         Allergies
When your body does not recognise a food it has an allergic response creating a whole host of problems, including cravings that lead to binging and inappropriate eating patterns. Allergies can also affect the thyroid and be the cause of water retention.
·         Intolerance

You may be consuming a higher quantity of a certain food than your body can cope with resulting in toxic overload.

·         Psychological issues

Sometimes when we are bored or feeling low, we eat too much or we eat the wrong foods. Stressful events or traumas that have occurred in our past could be at the root of our weight issues and may need to be dealt with before we can move on.

What To Expect

Over a number of regular sessions, we will explore your dietary history, your relationship to food and create the goal that you want to work towards.

We will introduce your optimum diet plan to achieve your goals whilst creating and maintaining great health.

To do this we will not only look at the food that you eat but also the psychological issues and attachments that you have to food.

To help you achieve this we will create a well-structured and realistic goal that will be monitored to record and monitor your success.

We will create your very own nutritional plan and identify any nutritional changes that you may need to implement. These could include:

·         Combining or un-combining certain types of food,

·         Eating at particular times of the day,

·         Optimum fluid/water intakes,

·         Maximum limits of stimulants or processed foods,

·         Glycaemic Index,

·         Nutritional supplements

We will identify three changes for you to make at each session. In my experience this is the number that is has the greatest success and doesn’t overwhelm people.

We will also test to identify any food allergies or intolerances and if appropriate correct them.

We will identify whether or not your system has any problems with an overgrowth of Candida Albicans. If you do we would correct this to bring your intestinal flora back into balance.

As well as looking at food and the health of your body we will also look at any other factors that need to be considered and remove any obstacles that would prevent you from achieving your goals.
